Upstate Neurology, P.A. is a general neurology practice founded July 8, 2002 by Dr. Arthur L. Smith. The practice provides neurological care to the South Carolina Upstate.

Upstate Neurology, P.A. is committed to serving the needs of the patients and their primary care physicians throughout Upstate South Carolina. With this goal in mind, we decided to open a free standing facility to accomplish this objective. On February 4, 2008 the doors of the Upstate Neurodiagnostic/Neurotherapeutic Clinic) opened. The clinic provides routine EEG, Ambulatory EEG, Video-EEG, EMG/Nerve Conduction Studies, Transcranial Doppler's, Cartiod Ultrasounds, Video Nystagnography, Balance Evaluation and Training, Botox, CT and MRI interpretations. These studies and procedures can be ordered by primary care physicians for their patients with or without a neurological consultation. This provides a convenient, less expensive and timely option to get these procedures done in an ambulatory, intimate setting. In the near future, the clinic will also provide urgent neurological care, laboratory, and infusion services.

On staff is Cathy Gentry RRT, RPSGT, RCP, EEGT the Neurodiagnostics Technologist.

Rebecca Strong joined the Upstate Neurology family in mid-October 2008. Rebecca, a native of Anderson, South Carolina, is a 2000 honor graduate of Westside High School in Anderson. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Clemson University in 2004, and her Masters of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Clemson University in 2008. Before accepting her position at Upstate Neurology, Rebecca was employed at Greenville Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Coronary Care Unit.
