Dr. Arthur L. Smith attended the UTHSCSA – Medical School and completed his medical education in 1991. Dr. Smith went on to pursue residency training at St. Louis University Hospital which he completed in 1995.

After residency training Dr. Smith pursed fellowship training in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, and sleep disorders medicine at both LSU and Tulane University Medical Centers in New Orleans, LA. Additional fellowship training was done at CWRU Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, in Behavioral and Geriatric neurology. This was completed in 1999.

Dr. Smith has been in Greenville since 2000.
